As part of the IT Data Management group within the Chief Technology Office (CTO), the Technology Operational Data Management (TODM) team helps Wells Fargo Technology Business Groups and Enabling Services manage IT assets and risks. Our current focus is to maintain and enhance existing solutions, including IT Asset Management Data Mart (ITADM), TAM Asset Management (1DSA) and IT Asset Management Operational Data Stores (ITAM), for Operational Reporting and BI analysis.
In order to meet risk mitigation and regulatory requirements around data completeness and data accuracy, we are seeking a Senior Data Development Engineer to join our growing team. This senior level individual contributor will be responsible for providing technical guidance and execution on all aspects of TODM ETL projects including data quality and metadata management initiatives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with large, complex data sets and to learn Big Data technologies.
The existing data warehouse architecture leverages Microsoft technologies (SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, TFS, etc.), Teradata and Oracle. The scope of the upcoming work includes the migration of our data solutions to the Enterprise Data Environment (EDE) on the Hadoop (MapR) platform, adoption of Ab Initio for ETL, and development of Linux-based data solutions using Python and MapR utilities. This individual will play a key role in successfully achieving the target state of our future platform.
Hands-on design and development of ETL (extract, transform, load) using Ab Initio
Hands-on Python development to support ETL (extract, transform, load) and Business Intelligence solutions
Effectively work in an ETL framework driven and Agile environment
Collaborate with Data Governance team members to design, automate and maintain Data Dictionary and Lineage solutions
Analyze incoming data requests and determine appropriate target solutions
Collaborate closely with business analysts, development teams and project managers for requirements and business rules
Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Architects, Data Analysts and Modelers to build scalable and high-performing data solutions
Effectively communicate data design to other members of the team to ensure proper implementation and utilization of the data structures
Develop business intelligence analytics and reporting to be used for metrics and visualizations
Plan, perform, and act as the escalation point for the most complex platform designs, coding, and testing
Work with internal and external DBA teams to troubleshoot problems and optimize performance
Support ongoing data management efforts for Development, QA and Production environments
7+ years of application development and implementation experience
7+ years of SQL experience
5+ years of experience with multiple RDBMS such as Oracle, MS SQL, Teradata or DB2 LUW
5+ years of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Programming experience
Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
2+ years of Ab Initio experience
3+ years of Java or Python experience
3+ years of experience delivering ETL, data warehouse and data analytics capabilities on big-data architecture such as Hadoop
Experience Hadoop ecosystem tools relevant for real-time and batch data ingestion, processing and provisioning using tools such as Apache Flume, Apache Kafka, Apache Sqoop, Apache Flink, Apache Hive or Apache Storm
Data modeling experience
Knowledge and understanding of data management concepts, process, tools, and environments
Knowledge and understanding of business intelligence development and reporting
Experience translating business needs into complex analysis, designs and recommendations
Source or version control tools experience
Knowledge and understanding of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle)
Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
