Seeking a full-time veterinarian to join our low-cost practice in Chicago Heights, IL! This clinic was opened in partnership with a local non-profit shelter, South Suburban Humane Society, to provide more opportunities for affordable veterinary care in the local community. This is a unique career path for associates with a passion for shelter medicine and progressive care. Some of the comprehensive services we are able to provide families at a more affordable cost are Wellness and Preventative Care, Vaccinations, Laboratory Diagnostics, Soft Tissue Surgeries, Digital Radiographs, Ultrasounds and more! We strongly believe that low cost should still be of the highest quality and we are passionate about providing it to pets in need!
Your daily duties:
Performing examinations of patients and developing treatment plans. Communicating treatment plan for support staff
Explaining diagnostics to clients in a compassionate manner. Discussing follow up care and options.
Discussing estimates and treatment options with clients
Maintaining detailed digital medical records in a timely manner
Completing daily client callbacks in a respectful and understanding tone
Communicating patient follow up with other team members in the practice
Performing surgery and dental extractions
Our ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with strong communication skills. We are also looking for someone who has strong analytical skills, is proficient in general surgery, has knowledge of best medicine but seeks to be a life long learner. A love of veterinary medicine, pets and their people is a must!
