Goucher's reimagined Career Education Office (CEO) is launching its new flagship program Goucher Advantage. The Goucher Advantage makes career education a central element of every Goucher student's experience through curriculum, mentoring and professional experiences. As part of the implementation of this new model, career communities are being created.
We invite applications from collaborative, innovative, and dynamic candidates for the position of career community advisor. Reporting to the executive director, career education office, the career community advisor will create communities to introduce students to relevant resources that facilitate major and career choice. The incumbent will plan events to address career exploration needs of students; establish avenues for students to connect with alumni, parents and employers to assist students learning about and gaining access to various careers and utilize technology and social media to brand communities and increase awareness of career resources, programs and opportunities.
Qualified candidates will possess a Master's degree in counseling, student affairs or higher education and at least two years of experience in career services, academic advising, experiential learning, higher education or related field. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in program planning and execution, group facilitation, and advising college students. Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of constituents is required. The successful candidate must be detail oriented; and possess strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills. Candidates must possess the ability to work across diverse groups and contribute to inclusivity in the campus community. Candidates must also possess experience and comfort with technology, social media and digital communication. The ideal candidate will bring a unique perspective and creative ideas and be adaptable to changing trends.
