Assistant Director, Graduate School Enrollment Services - (200000GT)
The University of Maryland, Baltimore has an opening for an Assistant Director of Graduate School Enrollment Services. Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Admissions and Enrollments, the Assistant Director will have overall responsibility for all aspects of graduate student enrollment and registration, grades acquisition, the degree certification process, student records retention, and course offerings management. Additionally, the Assistant Director will oversee the implementation and management of the faculty online grading process, implementation and management of the DegreeWorks advising application, and will monitor enrollments/progression of dual degree students and enrollments/progression of stackable degree program.

Oversees policies, procedures, practices and guidelines for student enrollment and registration activities, which includes the inter-institutional enrollment process with other USM schools.
Manages procedures and practices for grade submittals, grade values, GPA and calculations, grade acquisition and posting in compliance with audit guidelines; and oversees the implementation of the Graduate School's online grading process.
Monitors enrollment and progress of dual degree and 'stackable' degree students, including student records adjustments, GPA calculations and transcript arrangements.
Responsible for class schedule updates, updating course information each term, entering new course information into the student system, and assisting with Blackboard interface as necessary
Oversees the implementation of DegreeWorks for the Graduate School
Administers the Graduate School's Academic Calendar, including timetables for 16-week and 8-week courses, and directs updates and revisions to the Graduate School Catalog.
Maintains graduate student records and ensures compliance with the University's retention policies to stay current with records management techniques relating to imaging, disaster recovery, retention schedule, and other critical issues.
Provides oversight of thesis and dissertation formatting and submittal process, and maintains ETD compliance.
Manages data accuracy and reporting requirements, including the Survey of Earned Doctorates survey submittals; and preparation of reports pertaining to enrollment, retention and success rates data as needed.
Supervises the daily activities of the academic coordinator responsible for undertaking specific registration, enrollment, grades management, course management and degree certification activities and tasks.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree required
Experience: Two (2) years' related experience in a higher educational setting, with one year of supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of data manipulation tools, reporting, and data integrity required.
Familiarity with FERPA and with best practices for record-keeping (maintaining confidentiality of student records)
Detail-oriented, with exceptional organizational skills and project management experience.
Skill in the effective use of higher education enterprise applications (e.g., Banner) helpful and desirable.
The Hiring Range for this position is in the mid $50,000s, commensurate with education and experience.
