This position exists to provide advanced business analysis, project management and relationship management for the information systems of St. Cloud State University. This position helps the ITS department accomplish its mission through expert-level understanding of business needs and how they relate to data security, privacy and compliance sufficient to ensure information systems and services adhere to requirements. As a key liaison between the ITS department and the rest of campus, this position ensures business relationships exist and align with new and emerging technologies with complex campus needs. This position entails implementation and support of Agile processes, principles and practices across all levels and departments on campus. This position will also provide business system analysis, traditional project management and QA testing.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information technology, engineering, business administration or related field.
5 years of related IT experience in senior business analysis including: 3 years of experience managing multiple IT projects using Agile methodologies and 3 years of Scrum Master or Product Owner experience in any well-known software environment or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Excellent skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
Project management skills sufficient to manage multiple projects simultaneously, create clear and attainable project objectives, build project requirements, oversee the cost, time and scope of projects, manage project constraints and communicate progress and end results.
Strong written communication skills sufficient to write, prepare, and edit materials such as memos, procedures, reports, presentations, etc., using correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and sentence construction and clearly explaining complex technical ideas and procedures to varied technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong verbal communication skills sufficient to participate in discussions and communicate technical ideas and procedures to technical and non-technical staff and managers and present recommendations and reports to senior managers.
Customer services skills sufficient to actively listen to and understand customer needs and provide accurate information and appropriate alternatives in a timely, thorough, courteous, respectful and professional manner in person, over the phone and in writing.)
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Experience with business intelligence, warehouse, analytics and reporting solutions.
Experience with data governance, sourcing and acquiring data assets.
Experience with Microsoft Project or similar project management software applications.
Experience leading the scrum team in using Agile methodology and scrum practices; Ability to remove impediments and coach the scrum team on removing impediments.
Demonstrated ability to frame clear and complete requirements, identify process improvement opportunities and match systems and services to complex business needs and goals to provide advanced solutions.
Strong knowledge of technology systems and services sufficient to frame and recommend systems and services which best meet requirements.
