DEPARTMENT: Office of Blended and Online SUPERVISOR: Dean of Innovative Delivery Methods HOURS: Hours will accommodate adult learners including 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.
GENERAL PURPOSE The primary purpose of this position is to develop, implement, and provide continuous support for Molloy's blended and online learning programs. The Assistant Director will work directly with the Dean of Innovative Delivery Methods to leverage innovative and quality programming to ensure academic quality is upheld in the online learning space and to expand access to Molloy's credit-bearing programs. The Assistant Director will liaise with Academic Support Services and Student Affairs to ensure Molloy students receive appropriate support throughout their online learning experiences. Online preparedness for new students will be assessed and appropriate supports will be designed for any courses in a hybrid and online format.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate with Molloy offices (Student Affairs, Academic Support Services, Academic Schools and Enrollment Management) to support and assess students enrolled in hybrid and online courses.
Launch student support programs and workshops to ensure a smooth transition to Molloy's hybrid and online course offerings (e.g, success strategies, support resources and technical requirements).
Launch student surveys and run detailed data reports to ensure students are supported based on their course modality. Analyze data and inform the Blended and Online Learning Task Force of survey results.
Promote blended and online learning initiatives while working with instructional designers, Molloy's students, faculty and staff.
Develop and launch digital strategies to ensure student needs are met in the hybrid and online course learning environments
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree Master's preferred.
3 - 5 years experience
Supervises work of others (students), including planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work, ensuring quality standards. Is responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for students. Plans organizational structure and job content.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED Desktop computer, including spreadsheet and word processing software; copy machine; fax machine, printers, and scanners.
