York Veterinary Services is currently searching for an enthusiastic and full time associate veterinarian to join our team. We are a privately owned, well-established and growing mixed animal practice located 35 miles outside of Charlotte North Carolina. We have the ability to treat a wide variety of patients including dogs, cats, horses, goats, pocket pets, and more; the new associate is not required to see all species (small animal only will be highly considered). Our growing hospital is equipped with digital x-ray, full in-house lab, small animal and equine dental units, some of the newest monitoring equipment available, companion laser therapy, and a sound and knowledgeable support staff. We have access to a multitude of specialists, some of whom are able to come directly to our practice.
Potential candidates should be energetic with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a diverse and team setting. Candidates should be dedicated to exceptional patient care and as well as have the tenacity to continually increase knowledge within the field. Experience with large animal medicine a plus, however not required. New graduates looking for a career in mixed animal medicine will be considered.
Compensation is commensurate with experience. We offer a generous benefit package including 2 weeks PTO, annual CE allowance, full health and dental insurance, retirement, licensing fees, professional insurance, and some moving expenses.
We are expanding our practice this year to provide a brand new surgery suite, much larger treatment area, more exam rooms, and doctors office.
We pride ourselves on teaching and education; we have had many senior veterinary externs over the years and we hired our current associate as a new graduate. I believe that the best veterinarian is one that can achieve a work/life balance and we work hard to ensure that of all of our staff. As a mother myself, I am understanding of staff needs when it comes to their children and we are very flexible to allow for family time. I am proud of our team and looking forward to adding another member to our friendly family atmosphere.
Our hours of operation are 8-12 and 2-6 Monday through Friday and 8-12 two Saturdays a month. You would be scheduled to work 36 to 38 hours per week with a full day off during the week and only one Saturday morning a month. An associate would be able to do general surgery on a rotating basis as well as exam room visits on a daily basis. There would be no after hours or on-call required as we have a local ER.
We have the ability to do large and small animal barn/house calls, but not required (mixed is preferred, but small animal only is also considered).
Additional Salary Information: Quarterly production bonuses with up to $20,000 in health insurance, licensing, 401K match, CE allowance, and PTO
