For this real estate development and property management firm, the Tax Manager will work closely with the Vice President - Tax and Trust Administration and Senior Management on all tax activities, including research and preparation of individual, trust, and partnership returns as well as streamlining, revising, and developing controls, policies, and procedures for the department.The Tax Manager will be involved in tax planning strategy and special projects.
Principal responsibilities for the position include:
Facilitate and manage the preparation and initial review of complex tax returns for high net worth Individuals, Corporate, Trusts and Partnership groups
Interact with senior leaders to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance services
Develop and implement tax planning strategiesfor all necessary federal and state taxes
Provide input for ongoing tax compliance projects and activities
Review of apportionment calculations
Ensure compliance for company 1099 filings
Advise ownership and senior leadership on new legislation and trends which may impact the company
Provide support with special projects and transactions as assigned
When duties and responsibilities change and develop the job description will be reviewed and subject to changes of business necessity.
BS or BA degree in Accounting is required. The Tax Manager must be a CPA or an Enrolled Agent. A masters in taxation is preferred. 8-10 years of broad tax experience, with significant experience in real estate tax and partnership tax is required.
