Blake is seeking candidates for a full-time position in the Office of Admissions, primarily responsible for coordinating external outreach for admissions, developing and managing admission events, and creating digital content in support of enrollment from pre-kindergarten to Grade 12. The ideal candidate will have both technical skills and experience in marketing, and will be excited about developing new strategic initiatives that will grow the applicant pool and strengthen enrollment yield. This is a new position, and will be a key part of a seven-person admission team that manages admission and enrollment at Blake.
Essential functions and responsibilities:
Managing creative and engaging admission outreach efforts to increase Blake’s visibility locally and “tell the Blake story” to interested families. These include existing activities such as admission events in local libraries, Blake Lunches at local corporations and organizations, and Blake participation in local community events. New opportunities to be developed by the coordinator in partnership with the admissions team.
D eveloping video and other digital content that is creative, engaging and mission-aligned to promote Blake to prospective students and families. Creatively plan and produce on-brand content that will capture and highlight the spirit and ethos of the Blake experience for students, faculty and families. A key skill will be the ability to weave content into a compelling story. Technical responsibilities will include shooting video, reviewing footage, making editorial decisions, video enhancement, adding photographs, motion graphics, animation, audio and music, and final editing.
Managing and strengthening the Admission Office social media presence.
Working with the Office of Strategic Communications to improve the prospective parent experience on the admission sections of the Blake website.
Organizing, managing and re-imagining Blake’s on-campus admission events, which occur throughout the year during the school day, in the evenings and on weekends. This work includes working with the admission staff on event concepts, arranging faculty and administrative staff to attend, and managing details on the day of the event. This responsibility will include creation of new events to further meet the goals of the admissions effort.
Qualifications and skills required:
Bachelor’s (B.S or B.A.) degree with at least three years related experience in an organizational outreach or marketing role,
Proficient with professional video, audio and lighting equipment, and experience creating digital content for websites or social media
Proficient with video editing software such as Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere.
Fluency with Google Apps and Microsoft suite products. Familiarity with database processes are a plus
Willingness to be engaged in daily life at Blake, capturing spontaneous video content opportunities in classes, assembly, and afternoon programs, evenings and weekends.
Willingness to work as part of the Admissions Office team with various projects and functions when necessary
