Essential Job Duties:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide technical leadership and expertise necessary for the installation, integration and automation of the Operating Systems, database systems, and systems software infrastructure. This position resolves third-level technical or systems-level issues that are escalated from the Help Desk or other technical units.
This position uses project management skills as well as traditional programming and scripting languages as required to provide automation and integration of central services used by central IT and other campus units.
Integration of existing monitoring systems with campus Service Now initiative.
Provide support for automation of other central IT group services.
Backs up campus level monitoring, notification, and reporting environment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Master's degree and at least two years' of relevant experience; or Bachelor's degree with at least three years' of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience.
- For management‐level roles, also include with the above requirements 1‐2 years of supervisory experience.
A wide field of knowledge in systems coding, automation techniques, virtualization, and containerization preferably on a linux platform.
Deep knowledge in at least one Configuration Management system (Eg. Puppet, Chef, Ansible).
Experience at a systems level with database systems (Eg MariaDB, MySQL, Postgres).
The ability to read and comprehend technical documentation, and in general be able to grasp new concepts and understand the significance of those new concepts.
Must be able to work independently, accept responsibility and work under pressure. Proficient written and oral skills, analytical skills.
Demonstrate an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and other information systems staff.
7-10 years experience in IT related field.
Knowledge in at least one cloud platform.
