Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assessing existing policies and programs related to early childhood developmental health in Mississippi * Reviewing evidence-based policies and programs in other states * Planning and leading early childhood stakeholder meetings * Evaluating developmental health service gaps and proposing solutions * Working closely with project leadership to determine desired policy changes in Mississippi to enhance the early childhood developmental health system * Meeting with project partners and state agency representatives to discuss system development and policy recommendations * Synthesizing research findings * Writing policy briefs
* Master's degree in public health, public policy, or related field * Minimum of three years of experience in health policy, health care administration, health-related non-profit work, or state agency work
* Doctorate or Terminal Degree in Law, Public Policy, Public Health, or related field * Interest in early childhood development * Interest in policy research and systems change
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Excellent writing abilities * Strong research, organizational, and communication skills * Demonstrated problem-solving skills * Ability to work creatively within broad program goals * Basic computer skills * Ability to meet travel requirements of the position * Ability to work both independently and in diverse teams * Strong sense of self-motivation
