The planned School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences will house the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Department of Clinical Pharmacy Practice. The unit offers a B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, M.S. in Pharmacology, Ph.D. in Pharmacological Sciences, and is planning a Pharm.D.
Under the planned School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, the Director of Experiential Pharmacy Education is responsible for the development, management, and quality assurance of Pharm.D. Experiential education programs. The incumbent provides quality educational experiences for learners, including developing and implementing experiential opportunities for Pharm.D. Students and preceptor development and training programs. Ensures adherence to ACPE accreditation standards and requirements related to experiential education. As a recognized expert, leads complex strategizing and planning that has critical impact throughout the organization. Leads continuous program improvement efforts to increase educational quality and operational efficiency.
6-10 years of professional experience in the field. Pharm.D. and / or BS Pharmacy degree plus equivalent experience / training. California Pharmacy License or eligible for licensure within six months Expert knowledge of internal and external policies and regulatory requirements. Expert knowledge of a health professions education program curriculum and requirements. Maintains a deep expertise in health professions education theory and industry best practices. Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge and skills to develop and implement processes and systems to highly complex, unprecedented situations in administration and operations. Excellent communicator; great critical thinking and advising skills. Highly developed interpersonal skills. Strong diplomacy skills and ability to develop strong working relationships with department, Management, industry leaders and external agencies. Proven ability to advise and influence all levels of leadership and staff. Highly developed skills and expertise in organizational and project management. Leads teams and directs projects through from inception to completion on schedule. Excellent personal organization skills. Expert knowledge of current and emerging educational technologies to enhance teaching and learning practices. Expert ability to facilitate educational technology opportunities using technology-based solutions. Advanced knowledge of data management, documentation methods used in investigating and presenting findings about the program. Frequent travel within two hour radius of UCI required to facilitate site development and management. Occasional travel to local, state, or national professional meetings/conferences.
