Under the supervision of the laboratorymanager, performs all modalities of polysomnograms on various age groups.Performs multiple sleep latency tests.Ability to identify cardiac rhythmanomalies.Ability to administer CPAPand BIPAP therapies.Administers oxygenusing various mechanisms.May have theability to score Polysomnograms and multiple latency tests. Possesses theability to evaluate various sleep disorders.
1.Polysomnogram– either analog or digital polysomnograms.
2.Oximetersfor recording SpO2
5.ContinuousPositive Airway Pressure machines for treating sleep apnea.
6.Bi-levelPositive Airway pressure machines for treating sleep apnea and nocturnalrespiratory disorders.
7.Oxygenflow meters for the administration of oxygen.
8.NocturnalPenile Tumescence monitor

BLS certification from American Heart Association required. Basic cardiac arrhythmia recognition course.
High school diploma required; college experience preferred. Must have completed or be enrolled in an “A-Step” polysomnography training program.
Experience with patients having sleep disorders.
Skills in medical and surgical therapies for respiratory, cardiac, neurology, and urology. Knowledge of patient care for individuals with sleep, respiratory, and neurological disorders. Knowledge of oxygen delivery mechanisms. Ability to use CPAP and BIPAP therapies. Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Degree of Supervision Required:
Minimal direct supervision is required. Employee must be able to recognize sleep disorders and institute the appropriate therapy including oxygen, CPAP, and BIPAP.
