A market leader in this space, our solutions enable customers to formulate beautiful inks, high resistance coatings, robust adhesives, and functional coatings across a variety of substrate materials and in countless packaging markets.
As segment of BASF Printing and Packaging, products from our Functional Packaging Coatings (FPC) range are formulated to impart desired functional qualities onto a printed or coated substrate, such as water, grease, or oxygen resistance. These products can lead to game-changing solutions that enable packaging to be more sustainable.
As an active member of our marketing team, the FPC Market Segment Manager will be responsible for marketing and business development to position our current and future solutions for success in this market space. The Segment Manager will work collaboratively with all stakeholders across the business to understand and communicate market trends, to quantify and prioritize market opportunities, to develop effective solutions, and to position our products and business for sustained future growth.

Your marketing and commercial experience will serve you well as you collect and validate market and competitive intelligence in order to develop effective market approach strategies, recognize value-creating innovation opportunities, and support ongoing development of the Printing and Packaging innovation pipeline.
Utilizing strong communication and organizational abilities, you will need to maintain close alignment with internal and external stakeholders, present project and market updates to executive management, and communicate product/business value propositions to broader industry audiences.
Well-developed project management skills will be essential as you initiate, manage, and lead innovation/Phase Gate projects- Responsible to ensure project status is widely communicated, collaborate with R&D colleagues to deliver milestones on time, and project on budget.
As a strong collaborator, you will partner with sales, technical service, and R&D teams to develop and drive collaborative market and customer relationships that support effective development and launch of new industry solutions.
Leveraging strong business acumen, you will manage the Functional Packaging Coatings Segment profitability and growth targets. Your financial analysis experience will also support your ability to deliver on growth targets for the business' top and bottom line.
Demonstrating your creativity and market focus, you will coordinate with marketing communications colleagues to execute new product launches for the FPC segment. Organize and participate in industry-specific trade shows/fairs and ensure BASF representation in key industry associations.
Bachelors Degree required with Master's degree preferred
