The Sr. Systems Engineer is responsible for a broad variety of technical administration and support for Health Systems information systems and infrastructure, with an emphasis on AWS Cloud Services. The Systems Engineer works closely with business and technology counterparts to understand the enterprise objectives, initiatives and their impact on the cloud infrastructure.
This position will promote governance and compliance with security and operational standards, policies and procedures as well as develop and maintain the Health Systems cloud architecture and strategy with respects to functionality, performance, scalability, process, and reliability. The Systems Engineer provides technical expertise for direct support of day-to-day issues and maintenance of the enterprise SLA agreements.
Designing, configuration and support of a hybrid cloud environment with emphasis on data protection and security.
Working in tandem with engineering teams to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the company.
Responsible for developing, implementing, supporting and monitoring all administrative functions necessary for the efficient operation of the AWS Cloud environments.
Responsible for scripting and automating routine tasks for maintaining general cloud infrastructure and deploying/migrating applications.
Responsible for setting up and maintaining alternate data processing sites and workarounds during outage situations.
Developing documentation, user manuals, and policy and procedure information for AWS architecture.
Proactively resolves issues encountered during pre/post implementation, working with all levels of personnel both internal and external.
Provide technical assistance to technical services, development staff, project consultants, and support personnel in other departments.
Evaluates new applications; determines their effect on the existing network and systems infrastructure and perimeter; recommends and may oversee any necessary operational or security enhancements.
Assumes the project management role for the implementation, maintenance, and modification of components as it relates to a converged cloud service.
Stays current with industry trends and technology advances in the area of information technology.
Demonstrates understanding of business and clinical applications within CSHS information systems.
Serves as the technical point of contact for cloud support incidents. Performs proper problem resolution analysis, recommendation, and implementation.
Performs other related duties as assigned or required by the Team Lead of Cloud Services, the Manager or the Director.
