Under the general direction of Director, SOM Decision Support Services (DSS), and as an integral part of the Decision Support Staff technical team, Applications Programmer 3 is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining complex home grown systems. As part of the DSS, this position will play a significant role in the enhancement/modification of existing and future DSS Web Applications, maintenance of database programs integrated with DSS home grown systems. The incumbent is expected to work with SOM Associated Dean/CAO/CFO, Dean's Office Directors, Financial Managers and Analysts, as well as the other departmental CAOs and Personnel, providing technical and non-technical assistance on all DSS systems and their local environment.
Knowledge of UCI data warehouse and business systems, or any higher education data is plus. Knowledge of School of Medicine business functions and systems supporting those functions (accounting, payroll, research, students, physician billing) is plus. Demonstrated ability to interface with management on a regular basis. Demonstrated ability to contribute technical narrative to grant proposals. Thorough experience with identification and use of code libraries and open-source forums. Experience with planning for deployment and creation of feedback mechanisms. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
