Under minimal supervision, the QI Project Manager is responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of the NCQA accreditation work plan for the Commercial and Medicare lines of business at Denver Health Medical Plan. Develops and implements comprehensive project plans to analyze additional lines of business, participates and manages other related projects. The incumbent will utilize strong analytical, project management, process improvement, team building and communication/presentation skills to support the analytical and reporting functions of the QI Department. The Project Manager collaborates closely with Information Systems, Provider Relations & Contracting, Medical Management, and other departments of the Plan to develop, implement, and evaluate effective data queries, provide management analysis and reporting activities related to a variety of projects.
Bachelor's degree in business or healthcare related field, or equivalent work experience.
Typically, five to seven years of project management, process improvement or administrative experience in healthcare or a related field. Managed care, health insurance, and NCQA accreditation experience is highly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to develop, oversee, and monitor projects. Demonstrated experience with evaluating NCQA quality standards, reviewing accreditation, and analyzing quality improvement processes. Able to manage multiple projects. Able to summarize detailed information in an organized and concise manner. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Strong organizational management, team building and data analysis skills. Builds and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated strong problem solving skills, keen analytic abilities and solid writing and presentation skills. Skilled in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience with using complex systems to extract data from various databases and manipulate large data using SQL, SAS, SPSS, or application specific query tools. Able to work independently and collaboratively under pressure with other internal and external team members to ensure critical timelines are met. Acts as a resource for clinical, operations, system, and various administrative questions. ~Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desirable, but not required. All Certifications and Licenses required for this job must be kept current as a condition of continued employment.
