Reporting to the Chief Campus Planning and Facilities Officer, the Director of Systems and Services will have the primary responsibility for the management and operations of the Campus Planning and Facilities (CP&F) data and information systems. This leadership position will strategically direct the development and integration of new and existing systems, technology services and digital initiatives across CP&F. The Director of Systems and Services will identify major technological needs of CP&F and each department within (Harvard Center for Comparative Medicine, Campus Planning, Engineer and Construction, Facilities, Campus Services, and Finance and Real Estate). It is important for the incumbent to understand the systems from a business perspective so that the incumbent can guide IT strategy as the needs of the business evolve and also be the business representative with HMS IT so there is continuity and a shared understanding of needs, goals, etc. The Director of Systems and Services will serve as the steward of CP&F's IT resources, data resources and policies. The Director will act as a CP&F liaison with HMS IT to ensure that CP&F receives the necessary support to improve business processes across the department. The incumbent will provide business analytics, act as a bridge between business problems and technology solutions and analyze, transform and resolve business problems with the assistance of technology as the incumbent will constantly work to maximize the business value of the technology systems in order to drive and support the long-term vision of CP&F as it defines the future structure for IT systems. This position will capture the necessary data that is required for business intelligence while at the same time allowing for streamlined workflows and a decrease in data inconsistencies and inefficient entries. The incumbent will strategically identify technology solutions for the cross-departmental complex needs of CP&F.

A Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field with 10+ years of experience with progressive responsibility of managing complex IT environments, including IT support functions and data base management. Experience with running and managing large IT projects. Experience and knowledge of Facilities, Engineering and Construction, Planning and Campus Service's needs.
A proven record of achievement leading change, managing resources, streamlining processes and systems, developing a strong team, process documentation, change management, user adoption and a commitment to continuous improvement. Significant experience with facilities management systems including Geographical Information Systems, Maximo and SharePoint. Strong interpersonal skills; outstanding communicator with the ability to work collegially with others. Excellent leadership, project management, and analytical skills. A high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation. Strong organizational skills, communication skills (written, oral and presentation). Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical clients. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required. Ability to think strategically while working through tactical short-term priorities.
