SUMMARY We are currently working with a privately held manufacturing / fabrication operation to identify a Production Supervisor. This company has been in business almost 40 years with a track record of continual growth. They currently have operations in two states and will be opening a third operation next year in another state as part of their continued growth. In summary, the Production Supervisor will report to the Plant Manager, and have responsibility for the oversight of operation of one facility. Responsibilities will include managing all aspects of Safety, Productivity, Quality, Equipment, Preventative Maintenance, 5S, and On Time Delivery. Will communicate with other Production Supervisors in other facilities to coordinate and ensure all items are completed, on schedule, and the flow of production is being maintained. This facility has a team of about 15 to 20 individuals that the Production Supervisor is responsible for managing.
Responsibilities include: • Ensure all employees are wearing correct PPE and following safety practices and procedures. • Ensure employees are performing procedures in accordance with Standard Work. • Understand and be able to communicate Inspection Standards on all products in the building. • Track materials needed for the days schedule and ensure all items scheduled for each day are completed on time. • Resolve product issues by performing root cause analysis. • Build sustainable relationships of trust through open and interactive communication. • Openly and regularly communicate with Leaders in each department/building to achieve department and company goals • Have thorough understanding of the operation of all equipment in the department and have ability to recognize issues with equipment. • Communicate effectively with external customers on orders, production timing, etc. • Ensure all equipment's preventative maintenance tasks are performed as required (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, etc.). • Uses inventory technology tools to monitor and accurately forecast inventory needs. • Manage flow of products through the various departments. • Assist in training new employees in the various departments. • Escalate issues to the Plant Manager when necessary. • Ensure that area leaders are performing Standard Work regularly at predetermined intervals throughout each day.
BASE REQUIREMENTS • Experience in a manufacturing environment. • 5+ years of leadership / management experience. • Experience utilizing manufacturing equipment and / or knowledge of basic equipment troubleshooting. • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
