The commercial engineer position is a consulting role within Global Sales and Marketing that provides tools and technical assistance to Rockwell Automation sales staff, partners and customers. This person is responsible for supporting the Rockwell Automation sales team with pre-sales technical consulting which includes proof of concepts, system architecture review and recommendations, customer visits, and creation of commercial proposal. The individual will be responsible to support commercial opportunities utilizing appropriate resources in support of many fast paced, diverse, and challenging projects. The individual will need to demonstrate an attitude and ability to communicate and share technical information with others This Commercial Engineer position will be mainly focused on supporting the Medium Voltage products across Italy and additionally France.
Principal duties and responsibilities
Be the focal point in the region/country for the Medium Voltage product range, of which he/she is the technical and commercial expert regarding resolution development, questions and information transfer.
Proactively facilitate and/or provide training to the sales force and customers in MV capabilities and assists in product launches and promotions
Co-operate with the sales force in promoting the product range to existing and new accounts, with presentations, demonstrations and similar activities.
Participate in trade shows, being the focal point for demonstrations, customer contacts during the show, seminars and similar activities.
Ensure proper product and application information flow to the sales force and channels. Acts as the technical product expert to support the sales organization.
Gathers information concerning the capabilities/applications of MV drives, softstarters and switchgear, analyses and solve highly complex customer requests.
Actively seek out and participate in both formal and informal training opportunities to continuously develop technical skills
Update customers on new products and technology as related to customer's industry and application needs as a resource to the named account team.
Proposes technical solutions and build quotations for MV applications.
Focuses on opportunities that support Rockwell Automation's market strategy and growth.
Understands business models and how they can be exploited
Ability to set and achieve challenging targets.
Takes initiative in response to changing circumstances within the organization or markets
Report any information relative to competition or market trends and new competitive product developments to the appropriate resources through standard required reporting formats.
Ensure the right level of business information exchanged within the organization.

Co-operate with the MV Application Engineering, MV Project Management team to effectively develop competitive solution.

Co-operate with colleagues within MV Commercial Engineering team to share knowledge and gain experience
