Serves as a strategic advisor to the VP/Dean and unit-level leadership; handles a wide range of matters and is responsible for varying operational aspects associated with the Office of Student Academic Success (OSAS); ensures VP/Dean is well prepared for interactions with stakeholders and partners in collaboration with the VP/Dean’s executive assistant and executive communications team; keeps VP/Dean advised on relevant issues and makes certain issues brought to the VP/Dean’s office are addressed efficiently and effectively. Maintains a high level of communication and interaction with VP/Dean and OSAS leadership team and facilitates discussions and effective decision-making on complex problems. Manages complex projects and initiatives on behalf of VP/Dean and in support of OSAS and/or university goals. Working in partnership with marketing and communications team, facilitates the development and execution of strategic OSAS communications and success stories on behalf of the VP/Dean. Liaises with university stakeholders and participates in various university committees. Coordinates agendas for VP/Dean approval before leadership team meetings. In partnership with the VP/Dean and unit-level leadership, oversees and facilitates strategic planning and implementation processes; provides expertise and program management for specific strategic initiatives that are critical to meeting strategic plan goals. In partnership with Research & Program Assessment, unit leaders and Operations Team members, coordinates OSAS-wide assessment work and scorecard tracking. With VP/Dean, oversees OSAS involvement and input with University and OAA strategic plans and scorecards. With VP/Dean, collaborates with the colleges and university community in shaping, developing and implementing strategy. Partners with the Finance Director and HR Director to ensure high quality support for VP/Dean and alignment of resources to strategic director. Works closely with OSAS leadership team to foster a high-performing work culture. Works closely with VP/Dean’s executive assistant to assess inquiries directed at VP/Dean to determine proper course of action and delegate to the appropriate personnel. Partners with unit leaders to encourage continuous improvement initiatives and business continuity planning. Coordinates with VP/Dean executive assistant to oversee facilities planning and building maintenance efforts. Coordinates with VP/Dean executive assistant to plan OSAS-wide events and special projects. Other duties as assigned and determined by VP/Dean.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Higher Education or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Exceptional interpersonal and managerial skills. Ability to interact and influence at the most senior levels of an organization. Strategic thinker with the ability to focus on continuous improvement and future needs of the organization. Ability to work collaboratively and strategically across functions, levels and departments. Excellent strategic, organizational and project management skills. Strong written and oral communication skills with the proven ability to problem-solve and effectively operate in a senior administrative role.
Master’s degree in Business, Higher Education or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience strongly desired.
Target Salary: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 Annually
