The successful candidate:
Demonstrates the ability to ensure students’ growth in all aspects of learning art
Is well-versed in the teaching of many visual art courses, including proficiency in drawing and painting techniques and digital arts
Works collaboratively with department chair, the Academic Dean, and the Director of Teaching and Learning
Works collaboratively with department members and other colleagues in shaping curriculum and instructional practices in alignment with best practices
Is involved in all aspects of the school program, potentially including advisory
Supports the school’s mission by attending and participating in required meetings and events
A degree in art, MA preferred
Three to five years of successful teaching experience at the middle-school and/or high-school level
A demonstrated ability to teach art students from beginning to advanced levels
A personal understanding of and commitment to the Goals and Criteria of a Sacred Heart Education
Experience working with a diverse constituency
Demonstrated commitment to learning and promoting best practices in line with our integrated, global curriculum.
Proficiency with technology
