The Director of Service Learning and Community Partnerships coordinates, oversees, and advances Ensworth’s Service Learning program and maintains partnerships with local, service-oriented organizations. In their first year, the Director will work within the school’s existing service learning framework, planning and orchestrating four days of off-campus service throughout the year as well as a year-end, student-led conference on campus. The Director will also approve student service projects and monitor digital service hour logs throughout the year. Additionally, the Director will work with the current service learning curriculum coordinator, faculty, and administrators to design and integrate meaningful service learning projects into the core academic curriculum for all students in the coming years. The Director will also coordinate and facilitate service learning opportunities on weekends throughout the school year and offer summer experiences as a part of the school’s auxiliary programs. The Director is also expected to teach at least one academic class each semester during the school year.
Ensworth seeks an experienced educator with a passion for community service and direct knowledge of best practices in service learning programs. The ideal candidate will have the demonstrated abilities to affect meaningful change in a school setting and help other educators grow and implement new ideas and practices. The ability to work with multiple constituencies, including students, teachers, administrators, and third-party organizations make strong interpersonal communication skills a must, as are highly developed organizational skills. Qualified applicants will have a bachelor’s degree or higher and at least three years of experience working in a school setting.
