Lower School Maintenance Supervisor

Sidwell Friends, a coeducational, PK-12 Quaker day school with campuses in Washington, DC and Bethesda, MD, seeks a full-time Lower School Maintenance Supervisor. This position is responsible for the daily physical plant operation and maintenance of the Bethesda, MD campus.  In this role, the LS Maintenance Supervisor will monitor all aspects of the physical plant, identifying and repairing problems as they arise and will serve as the on-site Buildings and Grounds department point of contact. 
 
Other key responsibilities include daily checking of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems as well as performing routine maintenance service (change filters, clean coils, lube moving parts, etc.) on these systems and make repairs as necessary. Will be responsible for constructing, repairing and/or replace items specified by the faculty and staff for improving their educational programs.  This may include shelving, play/theater props, physical education equipment,  etc. Will also make preparations for the many events held on the campus, including set up and break downs.
 
This position has direct supervisory oversight of two team members. A minimum of 5 year of hands on experience in the building trades is required.  Must also have familiarity with the computerized digital controls used in modern HVAC systems. At least two years of supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
