The Agnes Irwin School is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and collaborative educator to fill the role of Director of Integrated Computer Science, Engineering & Design. This newly created position will spearhead the development of an innovative Computer Science, Fabrication and Engineering curricular program across all divisions. Additionally, the Director of Integrated Computer Science, Engineering & Design will manage the implementation of a fabrication and design space to compliment the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities include:
Design a student-centered, integrated computer science scope and sequence for all students grades Pre-K through 12 in collaboration with the Program Team, iTeam, Science and Mathematics departments
Oversee the implementation of an innovative fabrication and design space and complementary curriculum; manage the budget for materials and resources related to the space
Teach at least one MS computer science course for the 2020-2021 academic year with the likelihood of more teaching in future years
Participate in the life of the school by serving as an advisor, club sponsor, and/or coach
Successful candidates will possess:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, architectural design or another STEM related discipline plus five to seven years of teaching and curriculum development experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required; Master’s degree is preferred
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all constituents of the community
Ability to think creatively and innovatively
Outstanding organizational and communication skills
Previous project management and budgeting experience highly desired
Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and/or weekends to attend school events as necessary
