General Information The Dale E. and Sarah Ann Fowler School of Engineering at Chapman University invites applications for several part-time lecturer positions in the areas of computer science, computer engineering, and electrical engineering starting in the fall of 2020.
Opened in the fall of 2019, the Dale E. and Sarah Ann Fowler School of Engineering offers undergraduate degree programs in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, and Software Engineering. An undergraduate program in Electrical Engineering is expected to begin in 2021.
Chapman University offers traditional undergraduate programs in the arts and sciences and select pre-professional and graduate programs. Qualification A M.S. in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering is required. Whereas we welcome applicants from all disciplines in these fields, preference will be given to candidates with backgrounds and teaching experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, computer networks, robotics, hardware design, electronics and circuits, computer programming, mobile development, and modeling and simulation. All candidates should have a history of successful teaching or mentoring at the undergraduate or graduate level. Industry experience in the candidates field of expertise is preferred.
Responsibilities The successful candidates may teach up to two 3-unit courses per semester. These courses may include: Computer Science I (CPSC 230), Computer Science II (CPSC 231), Computer Networks (CPSC 353), Robotics (CPSC 260), Digital Logic (CPSC 330), Computer Architecture (CPSC 351), Android and IOS Development (CPSC356/357), Artificial Intelligence (CPSC 390), Data Science (CPSC 392), Database Systems (CPSC308/408), Electronics and Circuits (EE 200/300), Cybersecurity (CPSC454), and Systems Programming (CENG 231), among others.
