This position is responsible for supporting event set-up and break down, AV support, IT helpdesk response, and other customer service related activities related to the academic mission of the Emerson LA campus. Additionally, this position works in collaboration with other stakeholders to support, implement, and review a comprehensive events program to support and supplement a vibrant and active Emerson College Los Angeles community.
*This position requires flexible hours including some nights and weekends.

Your Key Responsibilities:
Supervise student workers in support of classroom activities, events on campus and IT helpdesk needs
Support Associate Director with booking requests for events/rentals
Set up venues for events, including chairs, lights, sound equipment, and modular stages
Provide excellent levels of customer service in support of programs
Pack up and inspect equipment for damage after use and checking it against an inventory list
Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT helpdesk by phone and email
Provide technical assistance and support for incoming concerns and issues related to systems, software and hardware
Maintain daily performance of computer systems
Ask educated questions and listen to customers to determine root cause of issues
Work through the problem-solving process with customers, empowering them to do the same in the future
Run diagnostic tests to resolve problems
Your Other Responsibilities:
Work as an usher to ensure that seating arrangements adhere to fire code regulations
Administer under the instructions of an Event Manager
Ensure the event hall is clean and organized
Assume the role of ticket taker welcoming guests
Dispense useful information to event-goers
Clean up computers/event materials and ensure space is organized
Report significant and recurring IT issues to the tier-2 support team
Collect feedback to determine patterns and issues such that they can be resolved or FAQs can be provided to customer to ease in troubleshooting
Support Equipment Distribution Center equipment check-in, check-out and inventory.

Your Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or related experience
1-2 years of experience
Outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills

Exceptional interpersonal skills and a friendly demeanor
Excellent written and verbal communication
Physical stamina and high energy levels
Excellent multitasking and ability to manage important pressing tasks
Nice to have:
Familiarity with Avid Pro Tools or similar Digital Audio Workstation
