Full time position for a designer with a minimum of 6 years of experience (or more) in a professional studio setting, with exposure to a variety of project types, preferably including interior design focused work. The position will work directly with a Project Manager and Principals as part of our hospitality and interior design studio and must have the capacity to assist on projects of all typology and scale.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Assist Project Managers and Principals with development of design from concept to construction documentation
Independently execute pre-design tasks including field investigations of existing facilities, research of building codes, accessibility design requirements, and assist with documenting client programmatic requirements
Work both independently and as a team during production of presentation documentation including concept boards, architectural renderings, etc.
Assist design studio with finish selections, samples, and construction specifications.
Develop technical drawings and related project documentation from schematic design through to construction documentation.
Assist Project Manager and Principal during construction administration duties
Communicate between staff and consultants to coordinate project tasks/goals/related items.
Applicant should meet the following criteria:
Possess an NAAB accredited degree in Architecture.
Have a burning desire to support a dynamic and diverse team of architects, designers and consultants in creating inspiring and impactful work.
Minimum 5 years experience in Commercial and/or Residential design.
Relevant experience in the project phasing and documentation requirements including construction documents and specifications.
Proficiency in Revit & AutoCAD
Working knowledge of SketchUp, as well as multiple Adobe suite programs (Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
Possess knowledge of interior finish materials and systems
Possess knowledge of construction detailing
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines while contributing to multiple projects simultaneously
Strong critical thinking, leadership, and communication skills required
