Responsible to the Director of Enterprise Software and Services and serves as technical project lead for multiple Banner/ERP modules, other purchased software, and ETSU applications and databases, especially those with a higher degree of complexity.
The Senior Software Engineer must:
Possess expert knowledge of software engineering processes in order to make technical decisions;
Perform all phases of software development including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, release management and maintenance of ETSU applications and databases as well as Banner ERP systems
Import and extract data, automate business processes, write reports, and integrate third-party applications
Adhere to established policies and procedures for secure data management
Assist with business user-needs assessments, design, development and presentation of prototypes to user community
Assist with technical documentation, user interface and user experience design, and any other activities essential to the development of university software projects
Delegate tasks to junior programmers, supervise and track progress as determined necessary by the Director
Work collaboratively, providing effective team leadership, and superior customer service.
Ability to learn and change is an essential part of this position.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
This is a high volume position that requires an individual who has expert project management skills in order to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.All software systems must conform to industry standards and maintain high performance, security, and scalability in support of institutional needs.
