Western Kentucky University Division of Extended Learning and Outreach (DELO) is seeking applicants for a PT Academic Outreach Specialist. The PT Academic Outreach Specialist will provide program support for WKU DELO's efforts to recruit and support online learners, including high school students enrolled in online dual credit courses and adults seeking college degrees and certificates. This is a part-time position, not to exceed 100 hours per month, with an expected schedule of 5 hours per weekday. The PT Academic Outreach Specialist will report to the Coordinator for Cohort Programs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.
Supports the WKU Online recruitment process
Provides excellent customer service to perspective students by providing a central point of contact for questions and concerns.
Communicates with dual credit students regarding their online course registration and WKU processes and procedures
Monitors dual credit student's participation in online courses and collaborates with program staff to address issues
Distributes final grades earned in online courses to high school officials
Attends events as a WKU program representative as needed
Other duties as requested

Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time
Minimum two years of postsecondary education
Minimum two years of relevant work experience
Knowledge or experience of a postsecondary environment
Work experience or demonstrable skill set in computer-mediated communication including email and chat
Computer competencies to include MS Office and ability to become competent with new technologies and software programs.
Must have a valid Kentucky driver's license
Physical and Mental Abilities
Employee typically will have discretion while performing job duties of sitting, walking, or standing.
Employee will be required to attend meetings on-campus and off-campus.
Must be a problem solver, critical thinking, and energetic.
Hourly Rate: $14.00 - $16.00
