Francis W. Parker School is a renowned JK-12th grade independent day school. We are seeking a full-time dynamic and experienced Middle and Upper School Technology and Innovation Teacher to provide leadership, consultation and support for teachers in the middle and upper schools (grades 6-12) in exploring practices that leverage technology and computer science integration to improve student learning.
Teach two (2) Upper School computer programming classes each semester and one Upper School class in design thinking and entrepreneurship
Creatively identify, plan and regularly execute opportunities for technology and coding integration into math, science, the arts and humanities in collaboration with other Middle and Upper School faculty
Communicate with parents on each student's progress
Work with other computer science faculty to iterate upon existing computer science curricula and develop new computer science curricula to meet students’ needs
Maintain and improve competence through regular professional development activities
Attend weekly faculty meetings

B.S. or higher degree in Educational Technology, Computer Science, or B.S./B.A. in a relevant field
A minimum of 3 years experience teaching middle and upper school
Experience with progressive education methodologies and curriculum development
Strong knowledge of the SAMR model of technology integration and ISTE NETS learning standards
Strong knowledge of object oriented programming, specifically Python
Knowledge of entrepreneurial applications of coding
An affinity for working with adolescents and building positive and lasting relationships with colleagues
Dedication to designing and supporting innovative and non-traditional curriculum
An understanding of design thinking and user experience methodologies and project-based learning as pedagogical tools
Awareness of new and emerging technologies
Willingness to explore applications of digital humanities in a 6th-12th grade educational environment
Commitment to engaging in and applying professional development in technology and education
Experience in and a demonstrated commitment to the continual development of one’s own cultural competence, and to seeking greater levels of diversity, equity and inclusion in practices and in curricula
Excellent communication skills
