AVIXA (Audiovisual & Integrated Experience Association) is seeking a progress-driven, user-focused Learning Systems Director to reinvent the learning experience for AVIXA members. We’re embarking on a notable digital transformation, and we need a teammate who can manages complexity and drive results. The Director will be empowered to bring user experience design ideas that we may not have yet considered.
The Learning Systems Director will oversee the learners’ journeys and the systems that make those experiences possible
– the Learning Content Management System (LCMS), Learning Management System (LMS), and Learning Records Store (LRS). The Director is supported by peers in Technical Training, Marketing and IT Systems, and is a bridge to the LMS and LCMS administrators on the IT team.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Own the vision and strategy for the learner’s journey, including the systems, processes, and technologies that support their educational experience
Lead cross-functional learning experience definition, implementation, maintenance, evaluation, and constant improvement
Manages the product lifecycle of the learning systems, gathering and prioritizing customer and business requirements
Develops functional requirements for LMS, LXP, and LCMS integration, and collaborates with IT on system requirements
Manage LMS, LXP, and LCMS service fulfillment process
Develop systems and processes to evaluate learning metrics using XAPI and qualitative interview data
Evaluate and optimize learning metrics
Coordinate with enterprise content management strategies
Collaborate with Content Strategist, IT, and Marketing teams to ensure that Learning systems are compatible with content format and requirements
Implement systems that support a social learning strategy

Experience using LCMS, xAPI, LMS systems (Usage of Xyleme a plus)
Experience owning the product lifecycle from concept to design to implementation and evolution
Proven results from user experience design
Ability to develop and execute product roadmaps, utilizing a blend of experience, stakeholder input, and data sources
Experience with product management processes such as Agile, Scrum, and/or Lean
Proficiency in English. Bonus points for additional language comprehension or fluency!
Passion for or interest to learn about audiovisual systems and applications
Experience using design thinking techniques a plus
Passion for working with subject matter experts or volunteers
Outstanding communication and people skills
Reliability and efficiency
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience Level: 5+ years with learning systems
Technical Skills: LCMS, LMS, xAPI
