1. Sets high-level processing and cataloging priorities in consultation with colleagues across the Beinecke Library, enabling new acquisitions to be cataloged or processed within equilibrium parameters. Ensures an infrastructure, workflow and commitment to this goal. Provides timely and accurate reporting on the status of processing and cataloging not complete.2. Leads the fully funded backlog project which is underway to eliminate the Library's backlog of unprocessed books and manuscripts; provides timely and accurate reporting on progress.3. Responsible for overall leadership, planning, budgeting, administration, supervision and evaluation of unit heads, and the operational effectiveness and staffing of the department.4. Fosters an internal department culture committed to collaboration, communication and respect for each other and colleagues across the Beinecke Library and broader University Library.5.
