FACILITIES MANAGER , Materials Science and Engineering (DMSE), to join a dedicated and talented community of approximately 500 faculty, staff, students, and researchers in offices and labs that are contained in 100,000 square feet of diverse research, instruction, and administrative space spread over six buildings. Will manage interdisciplinary facilities with complex instrumentation and labs and facilitate complex renovation projects; provide long-term space management planning; make enhancements to department facility policies and procedures; and meet the sensitive needs of the department's faculty, staff, and students.
The position is ideal for someone who wants to be part of a collaborative and dynamic team that fosters inclusive partnerships and a growth mindset in an exceptional department. DMSE members study matter and how it is made, research cancer treatments, develop new solar panel technologies, design computer models of water purification, blacksmith, and blow glass.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelor's degree in facilities management or related field; at least three years' relevant experience; in-depth understanding of building systems; experience with project management and dealing with building facilities, systems, and construction; and proficiency with computer hardware and standard software. Must be able to interact/communicate with a diverse community of faculty/staff/students/facilities' staff/architects/engineers/contractors; manage multiple concurrent tasks; and work both independently with minimal supervision and as a team member.
