The Business Systems Analyst is charged with ensuring that the firm utilizes its software and systems in the most effective and efficient manner possible. This includes being the subject matter expert for key systems, aligning our processes to take full advantage of those systems, overseeing training on the systems, and creating insightful reports that enable strong management decisions. Inherent in these responsibilities is the need to recognize and recommend system or process enhancements, and manage those enhancements to successful implementation. This person will work closely with executives and operational teams to clearly understand, identify, and solve business challenges.
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert and “system owner” by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of key systems functionality, features, and reporting. Key systems include project management, time entry, client billing, and related functions.
Develop and enhance processes that work in tandem with core systems, ensuring we get the most from our systems
Maintain active relationships with executives and staff to understand and document system & process requirements
Provide or direct ongoing employee training on core systems
Assist management with developing insightful reporting and/or data visualizations utilizing core systems functionality or third party tools
Recognize when disparate systems or databases should talk to each other and understand what’s needed to get them connected
Proactively drive the research, evaluation, and recommendation of core software solutions as appropriate. Serve as the project manager for accepted solutions.
Lead requirements gathering meetings and review designs with stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology, Engineering, Business or related field
A minimum of 5 years’ related experience with project management, systems analysis, integration, optimization, reporting, and/or implementation
High-level understanding of relational databases
SQL, SSRS, Crystal Reports, Power BI, Tableau and/or other reporting & visualization tools
Knowledge of emerging technology and platforms, ecosystems, hardware, and trends
MS Office, MS Visio or other widely used project management tools
Experience gathering input from teams and arriving at successful solutions
Proven oral and written communication skills across multiple levels of an organization
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Experience supporting a professional services organization is helpful but not required
