We are offering a 6-month Mentoring Program for new graduates joining out ER/Urgent Care Service.
During the first six months of employment you will have:
Access to a boarded Criticalist
Bi-weekly educational meetings with the Criticalist
You will begin by shadowing another clinician. After the first month of shadowing, you will have primary case responsibility but will work with another doctor on the service.
You will rotate with our Zoo Medicine Department to increase your comfort level with the avian and exotic species that we see.
Our Urgent Care Service provides experience in the treatment of a wide variety of ailments and builds a very solid medical foundation. It also provides:
A supportive DVM and Technical Staff
Monthly morbidity and mortality rounds
Monthly Journal Club meetings
Monthly Doctor meetings
On-call surgical staff - with opportunities to learn emergency surgeries if interested
This position allows you to practice high quality medicine and gives ample opportunity for continued growth by working alongside our team of specialists in Surgery, Internal Medicine, Emergency and Critical Care, Zoo Medicine and Acupuncture/Integrative Medicine. Our well equipped facility offers ultrasound, digital radiography, CT imaging, endoscopy and bronchoscopy. Our intensive care unit offers the ability to deliver oxygen by cage or nasal cannula at cage side; I-STAT and in house chemistry, CBC, and Coagulation testing. We also have patient monitoring to include; multi-parameter monitors (oscillimetric BP, pulse oximetry, end tidal CO2 and ECG). Doppler BP is also available. We stock a complete in house E/CC pharmacy and a full line of blood products for both dogs and cats.

Licensure in good standing to practice in Pennsylvania

Our facility has an in house laboratory; Imaging (CT, diagnostic ultrasound and digital radiology); Endoscopy; Bronchoscopy; Physical Therapy and 2 OR Suites. The facility also has an ICU equipped for IV fluid and blood product support; oxygen delivery; ECG, blood pressure and pulse oximetry monitoring.
