Instructional Designer (Information Technology Consultant, Career Level/ITS - ATI California State University, San Bernardino
Overview Employment Status:2 POSITIONS AVAILABLE: One (1) Full-time, probationary, 'exempt' position and One (1) full-time, temporary, 'exempt' position.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Salary Range: Anticipated salary range from $4,375 to $6,000 per month.

Overview of Duties: California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) seeks a dynamic, collegial, and self-motivated individual to work with CSUSB faculty on instructional design, provide support on academic applications and technologies, and collaborate with colleagues on departmental and campus projects related to academic technologies. This staff member will report directly to the Interim Director of the Academic Technologies & Innovation and will work closely with a team of talented instructional designers and technologists.

The incumbent's functions include but are not limited to:
Support faculty with course development, course design, and course enhancements.
Coordinate the development of instructional materials that are functional, informative, and consistent with sound pedagogical and instructional design principles.
Help interested faculty develop courses in accord with QM and/or QLT standards.
Conduct needs assessment and content development for courses.
Create, develop, and curate resources for courses and programs.
Support faculty in their use of the Blackboard learning management system and its LTI third-party integrations.
Provide telephone and in-person support and consultation.
Offer training in one-on-one, group, and classroom settings.
Stay current in areas of instructional design, learning theories, and new teaching technologies.
Identify and research best practices in the field of online instruction.
Monitor and follow developments of emerging technologies.
If supported by ATI, attend select conferences to stay current with technology, instructional design, and practices in teaching and learning.
Support faculty in storyboard, script, production, edit, and design of their course videos.
Create videos, graphics, and multimedia items for online/hybrid courses.
Research and evaluate software and multimedia applications for faculty courses.
Explore, learn, and test new technologies to be implemented in courses.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience:
The equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications, or related fields, or similar certified coursework in applicable fields of study.
A minimum of two (2) years of related experience.
The incumbent must have extensive professional experience in instructional design and academic technologies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The ability to work respectfully and patiently with faculty.
The incumbent must have excellent communication skills.
The ability to collaborate closely and collegially with other ATI staff, and to take the initiative on researching, using, and teaching others to use current and new academic technologies.
The ability to demonstrate proficiency in using multimedia tools, social media, and mobile technologies.
The ability to provide a high level of digital fluency; strong oral and written communication skills; attention to detail; patience; a positive attitude.
A Master's degree in educational technology, instructional design or a closely related field from a regionally accredited program.
The knowledge of learning models and learning-related research.
Experience with learning management systems, Blackboard is preferred.
Demonstrated experience with project management and the ability to meet milestones and deadlines.
