University Advancement’s Volunteer Programs Department is seeking an energetic, highly organized and creative fundraising professional to help develop and execute programmatic engagement, strategy, and growth for the University of Houston’s executive level volunteers. As a member of the team leading the UH and Division wide priority of high-level volunteer engagement, the ideal candidate will have strong passion for philanthropy, relationship building and an understanding of volunteer leadership as part of a giving cycle. This is a visible role and responsible for key board and volunteer efforts for both internal and external constituents and drives meaningful interactions supporting the priorities of the University.
Working closely with UH and Division leadership, this role will serve as a liaison to executive level board members, to help build and instill a culture of engagement amongst members;
In collaboration with UA partners, develops annual plan for task forces/sub-committees, participate in pipeline development and recruitment efforts, and high-level constituent programing;
Manages project and program timelines through execution, creates and tracks meeting materials including presentations and reading materials, and collaborates with the communications team on key touch points;
Participate and guide peer-to-peer workshops and programs to share best practices to garner support and advice from key constituents;
Work closely with other Advancement and University departments to track and analyze data in support of strategies and decisions about volunteer activities and future direction;
Participate in overall development of volunteer relations priorities and programs and keeps abreast of national best practices in volunteer management;
Has a proven history of building relationships across diverse groups of stakeholders;
Requires a high level of professionalism, to be detail oriented and ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
Involves the ability to multi-task by simultaneously managing both simple and complex projects including: developing and executing timelines, connecting stakeholders, ensuring best practices are utilized and implemented;
Outstanding communication skills in both written and verbal formats to both internal and external stakeholders;
Comfortable supervising a project’s team which may include colleagues, UH staff, interns and/or volunteers;
Serve as a front-line ambassador with University Advancement;
