The University of Kentucky is seeking a skilled financial leader to serve as our institution-wide Treasurer, including our academic and research operations as well as UK HealthCare. The Treasurer’s primary responsibly is to safeguard the financial integrity of the University, while bringing expertise and innovation to the University Financial Services division (USF). This position will have responsibility and oversight for the treasury, banking services, payroll, accounts payable, property records and debt and liquidity functions, and for accounting and preparation of internal and external financial reports including unit and consolidated financial statements, and the coordination and oversight of the external audits. The Treasurer reports directly to the Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration and works closely with the Board of Trustees, university counsel, financial advisors, bankers, rating agencies, auditors, donors, and senior leadership to support the University’s mission.
Successful candidates will possess advanced knowledge of financial operations, financial regulations, and financial principles, enterprise level technology, as well as, the ability to analyze, evaluate and interpret complex financial data and draw sound conclusions. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated capacity for independent thought, intellectual honesty and decision-making, the ability to think critically to improve processes, highest degree of honesty, personal integrity, accountability, and trust. In addition, they must possess strong leadership, analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to plan, direct and manage projects, managing multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines. Candidates will have the ability to prioritize and work independently, utilizing UFS team members, members of other UK offices, and outside parties to timely complete large, complex projects and transactions. Excellent oral, written and verbal communication skills along with a keen attention to detail are also necessary.

Required education and experience
A Master’s Degree in finance, accounting, or business administration
Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible financial management experience preferably in a large, complex institution of higher education
A current CPA, CTP or CFA license
