This is a part-time position working 17.5 hours per week.
The Tufts University Department of Education is comprised of 18 full-time faculty, 15 part-time faculty, 4 staff members, over 125 graduate students across 7 graduate programs, and a growing number of students in the newer undergraduate major. Our varied programs prepare students to work in schools, as teachers or as school psychologists; for careers in museums, and for careers in education research. The Multimedia Specialist position in the Department of Education provides support for the use of technology across seven graduate programs, a certificate program, and undergraduate major, including instruction in new technology for faculty and students. Provides student support and instruction in media software, audio, and video equipment as a part of their core curriculum. Provides faculty support for the adoption of updated software and programs for a wide range of applications that use educational technologies in various professional development programs including teacher preparation, STEM education, school psychology, and museum education, among others.
Knowledge and experience as typically acquired by Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience.
Technical and computer skills including MS Office, HTML, Internet skills, and Mac/PC fluent.
Expert skills in photography, digital video, print media, digital media, digital imaging, image and video editing.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively are essential.
High level of organization and group leadership skills.
Self-managed and able to operate independently with limited day-to-day guidance.
Able to work well in classrooms grades k - graduate level and interact tactfully with administrators, teachers, students, and faculty.
Previous experience with creating and editing content for web publications and platforms is required.
Previous experience working with faculty using learning management systems (LMS) such as Canvas or Blackboard as well as other educational technologies is highly desirable.
Special Work Schedule Requirements: Occasionally will be asked to work outside of standard hours and location to capture photos at events (ie: Commencement on Sunday) and in classrooms.
