The Stewardship Officer, Donor Relations is responsible for stewardship support andinitiatives for assigned business unit(s) to promote renewal and increased giving of donors. Reporting to the Stewardship Manager, under the direction of the Director of Donor Relations, this position plays a key role in supporting MSKs fundraising goals by assisting with the preparation of compelling and meaningful content for donors on the impact of their gifts at all giving levels.
The Stewardship Officer will work alongside fundraisers to impact the success of fundraising by strengthening relationships between all stakeholders by assisting with research updates and stewardship meetings, events and naming opportunities and other identified stewardship initiatives. The Stewardship Officer will maintain a consistent portfolio of donors who require stewardship or engagement in addition to supporting development-wide stewardship and event initiatives.
The position requires strong project management skills and stewardship experience.
Collaborates with business unit leadership and development officers to identify a portfolio for stewardship support
Collaborates with fundraisers on the development and implementation of both long and short term stewardship strategies for donors, that strengthen relationships and ensures a sustainable donor experience
Creates, supports, organizes and executes donor engagement events
Collaborates on the development of materials needed to support fundraisingefforts, elevate giving levels and increase annual contributions
Works with medical colleagues within the institution to obtain research updates and scientific impact reports for donor funded research
Prepares and provides donors with fund usage reports, in collaboration with Dev. Finance, Research Fund Managers, and PIs
Organizes and participates in meetings both internal and external, both planning and stewardship
Makes recommendations on initiatives that will add to, and increase support for, the development department and donors
Works with Donor Relations Associate to develop and maintain a stewardship pipeline and timeline for annual reporting, events and impact reports for donors
Facilitates the coordination of the complex schedules of department leaders, staff and attendees including institutional leadership and board members.
Maintains information on stewardship in CRM and create a system of reporting quarterly on the completion of stewardship initiatives
Uses internal software
Makes recommendations and improves on operational processes relevant to supporting the donor relations team and the development department.
Assists with other duties that support the donor relations team as assigned

Bachelors degree preferred plus 1-3 years of experience. In lieu of bachelors degree, 5 years experience can be excepted.
Experience as a proofreader, editor, or writer, preferably with prior experience writing and editing under executive level signatures.
Resourcefulness and excellent problem solving and written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in a high-volume non-profit philanthropic service environment.
Experience with Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
Relationship management experience working with donors and fundraisers is required.
