OMNI Institute seeks a Finance Manager with a passion for working with social scientists dedicated to tackling society’s most pressing challenges. The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing internal financial procedures and controls, external bookkeeping and audit relationships, and internal project accounting and reporting. This position will report to the COO and work closely with the Executive Management Team (EMT) and our project leads.
The successful candidate will build meaningful relationships with teammates across the organization, be highly resourceful and self-driven, and effectively communicate across teams. They will have a passion for solving problems creatively and will hold themselves to a high standard of excellence. They will be a strong communicator with the ability to ask precise questions.
Manage external bookkeeper and oversee monthly accounting cycle.
Manage all accounting and finance platforms (Quickbooks Online, Expensify, Bill.com); develop and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures.
Support project leads and executive team in developing proposal budgets; reporting and maintaining project-level profitability reporting; and monthly, quarterly, and annual organizational financial reporting.
Review and provide guidance on contracting requirements, particularly related to budgeting and billable rate structures.
Support proposal pricing strategy, review and guidance on invoicing and reporting contracting requirements, and the development of billable rates and annual indirect cost rate.
Manage and oversee annual audit.

Experience working with our primary finance platforms, including Quickbooks Online, Bill.com, and Expensify
Experience working with a project-based cost allocation policy
Familiarity with GAAP standards and accounting for nonprofits and/or project-based professional services organizations
Strong project management skills and experience managing vendor relationships and internal deadlines
Ability to take financial data and distill findings and make actionable recommendations to improve organizational performance
Collaborative spirit and the ability to work across lines of difference and build relationships across the organization

Salary & Benefits: $55,000 to $65,000 with benefits
The OMNI Institute is a 501c3 nonprofit consultancy. We are a client project-based professional services organization that provides research, evaluation, capacity building, and technical assistance to the nonprofit, philanthropic, and government sectors on a 100% fee-for-service basis. We have over 40 staff in our Denver Headquarters and in other remote locations nationally.
Our primary areas of research include Public and Behavioral Health (substance use prevention, treatment, and recovery; homelessness; food access and insecurity; health equity), Human Development (ece-12 education; child and family poverty; economic mobility), and Adult and Juvenile Justice (juvenile diversion, behavioral health treatment for systems-involved populations, restorative justice, community policing, racial and ethnic disparities).
