Under general supervision of the Senior Director of Human Resources, this position will support the implementation of Workday Payroll. While collaborating with Human Resources and Payroll teams to gather requirements the Payroll Manager will lead the Payroll work stream for the Workday implementation project.
Typically a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources or related field. Master's degree preferred. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of benefit regulation/policy changes.
Minimum 3 years of demonstrated knowledge and experience in payroll processing, principles, accounting practices and procedures. Direct work experience in managing complex technology projects across business units is a plus. California CPA or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of US payroll regulations and reporting requirements is required. Understanding of federal, state and local tax regulations related to salaries, wages, taxes, benefits, pay stubs and other payroll related matters required. Strong project management skills to coordinate the planning, implementation ensuring compliance and administration of LMU payrolls. Strong experience in development of efficiencies in payroll processes, directing changes, and internal controls.
Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral). Ability to communication effectively across all levels of management and provide presentations. Ability to work with and influence various stakeholders, manage multiple changing priorities and processes. Excellent research, analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills with attention to details required.

Demonstrated advanced computer competency in Microsoft Office Suite. Advanced skills in data analysis using database, spreadsheet, reporting software. Workday Payroll processing and time tracking experience preferred. Familiarity with ADP software suite.
