Bachelor's degree and 4 years of related experience OR an equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling 8 years.
Bachelorâs degree in a construction, engineering, or architecture related field. A combination of education and experience in construction management/administration may substitute for the preferred degree. Additional years construction supervisory, project management or construction administration experience on commercial and/or institutional projects. Experience with public sector project delivery and procurement policies and regulation.
Facilities Planning and Management at Iowa State University is seeking qualified candidates for a Construction ManagerÂ IIIÂ position. This position will provide construction management services for small to moderate size capital projects for renovation or new construction of campus facilities.
Responsibilities include acting as the Ownerâs Representative during the construction phase of assigned projects. The position is responsible for management, coordination, and construction administration services during the construction phase of capital construction projects. Additionally, the Construction Manager observes work in progress to assure that the installation of materials and equipment is in accordance with contract documents, applicable codes and university standards. At any one time a Construction Manager is responsible for management and oversight of multiple simultaneous small to moderate sized projects with aggregate project budgets totaling up to $2 million.
The successful candidate will possess good communication skills, strong analytical and organizational skills, be detail oriented, and have the ability to lead diverse project teams with conflicting interests, needs or requirements; and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
