This position is at the Learning Research and Development Center (LRDC), a multi-disciplinary center for research to advance the science of learning by bringing together leading researchers in the cognitive, social, and educational sciences. LRDC is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Lab Manager/Research Assistant. This position will have both research and administrative responsibilities.
Research duties will vary according to project needs and may shift based on the specialized skills and background of the research assistant. Sample research responsibilities may include qualitative data analysis, UX research/design/development, literature reviews, study planning and design, statistical analysis, and possible programming tasks based on researcher's skills. Administrative duties include purchase processing, IRB preparation and submission, personnel management, lab inventory, and digital organization of lab activities. We are looking for someone who can implement and maintain strong organizational and administrative processes for the lab. The successful candidate must be flexible and able to multitask, balancing multiple projects and lab management duties with excellent organizational skills.
This person must be able to work both independently and collaboratively, skilled at working with other people to analyze data and advise on project decisions and simultaneously able to make independent decisions to help move projects forward.
The person filling the position must have some combination of the following research skills, though the position can be tailored to a specific combination of these skills:
* UX research/design * Application development & programming abilities * Expertise in AI or machine learning * Quantitative and statistical data analysis * Qualitative research and data analysis * Literature reviews * Study planning and organization Those with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Education, or Design may be particularly suited to this position.
