The Manager of Informatics serves as a knowledgeable informatics resource in identifying, defining, developing, and deploying clinical process models, and other analytical models with focus toward effective use of data, to support quality patient care and professional practice. They drive actionable insights and solutions using analytical and statistical methods, project management and overall business knowledge. They understand, interpret and communicate regulatory changes.
The Manager of Informatics works closely with the other Informatics leadership partners and Executive Sponsors in system-wide efforts of creating and managing the clinical and quality infrastructure necessary to move new related projects forward, as well as maintain and update existing initiatives. They help in priority setting of staff, direct evaluations, mentorship and on boarding of new employees.
Overall initiatives include collaboration to identify, standardize and improve data capture, documentation, and electronic reporting processes. They are responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, and improving data throughout the system lifecycle for clinical informatics applications and projects. The Manager of Informatics champions the use of data and analytics for digital health, leveraging the EHR and other systems and functionality. They act as a change agent for use, transformation and interoperability of accurate and valid electronic data to support patient health and informed decision-making.
Minimum 10-years’ experience in a clinical setting with working knowledge of clinical practice current healthcare issues, policies and procedures required. Experience with both inpatient and outpatient care environments and related workflow processes.
Proven knowledge of healthcare information systems including administrative claims, clinical data, quality and outcome metrics, electronic health records, electronic Clinical Quality Measures (eCQMs) and related technical specifications, analytic products and advanced analytics.
Experienced with standardized vocabularies, clinical reporting, database management and decision support.
Experienced in implementing information systems, clinical initiatives, including electronic healthcare, academic and research systems.
Proven ability to create a clear strategic vision for information services that supports business and clinical objectives and execute on that vision.
Demonstrated team player favoring collaborative approaches; ability to establish effective interpersonal relationships in working with internal and external partners.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and maintain flexibility to adapt to a changing environment.
Demonstrated planning and organizational skills; including effective problem-solving, with ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines.
Proven established knowledge of a range of vendor technology solutions; able to select and integrate the most appropriate technologies to support MemorialCare.
Proven partner in vender affiliations, able to manage multiple relationships to ensure the best performance and financial return.
Developed skills in establishing and implementing long and short-range strategic plans, multi-year budgeting and re-forecasting, organizing operations, and general fiscal management.
Demonstrated ability and proficiency in teambuilding, conflict resolution, and group interaction; proven ability to manage and coordinate individuals with different professional training, skill sets, and personalities.
Proven effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills; proficiency in translating complex concepts.
Demonstrated attention to detail, able to validate data and information for accuracy, relevancy and timeliness.
Proven understanding of advanced analytics and methods such as time series analysis and longitudinal studies.
Validated experience with analytical / statistical programming tools for data extraction and summarization, statistics, and analysis. Ability to develop and modify queries to extract large amounts of data for data requests.
Completion of a formal academic or training program in biomedical, health, or nursing informatics.
Current and active license as an RN by the affiliated State Board of Nursing.
