Pace Academy is an independent college preparatory school in Atlanta, GA., with an enrollment of 1100 students in Pre-First through 12th grades. Pace is seeking an energetic, creative, and organized individual to join the Middle School faculty as a Technology and STEAM teacher. This teacher will teach five classes as well as assist in the development of future courses offered in the Middle School.
Responsibilities include developing and teaching technology offerings such as programming, robotics, expressive and creative technology, app development, and/or VR/AR applications. The teacher will regulate and supervise the Technology Lab as well as help develop the school’s growing makerspace.
The ideal candidate will possess a passion for digital technology design. He or she will be able to demonstrate in their work history the ability to motivate and excite youth in learning the fundamentals of designing for, programming, and applying computing technology. The ability to implement existing curricula and developing new curricula as technology contexts change is required.
The candidate should have excellent collaboration skills and enjoy working with others as the person in this role serves as a resource and support for teachers interested in incorporating Technology and STEAM into their own curricula.

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field; Bachelors minimum, Masters Preferred
Experience in a technology related field
Strong familiarity programming (Python preferred) and learning platforms for programming, such as Tynker
Strong familiarity with creative digital technologies such as graphic design, image/video production and editing, 3D modeling, and/or HCI and UX design
Experience with at least one of the following: robotics, app development, Arduino, circuitry, and/or AR/VR
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
