Baruch College has an exciting opportunity for a highly resourceful, detailed oriented professional with strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Reporting to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Confidential Executive Associate is responsible for supporting academic policies, programs and initiatives. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
-Provide comprehensive and expert support on major strategic and administrative initiatives and engage in short, medium and long range planning to ensure success.
-Function as the Provost's Confidential Manager and representative in all sensitive matters relating to the Office of Academic Affairs.
-Provide the highest level of analysis, coordination, implementation and communication support related to current and emerging issues of importance to the Office of Academic Affairs.
Independently carry out a portfolio of projects relevant to the Office of Academic Affairs and provide project management oversight for various initiatives.
-Manage the collection, retention and dissemination of information and documents.
-Develop and manage a library of standard communications, which shall include reports, analysis, presentation, briefing materials and responses.
-Arrange, convene and attend faculty and staff meetings on issues of importance to the College, and to the Provosts' Office.
-Work collaboratively with all members of the Provost's Academic Council, faculty leaders and members of other divisions to help plan and successfully execute initiatives.
-Create and manage various data sets related to the Provost Office and prepare ad-hoc reports as required.
-Draft reports for the Provost on academic and institutional matters and engage in various research activities directly related to the institutional research and planning function including serving on special committees established by the Provost.
-Oversee the content that appears on the Academic Affairs website for Baruch College.
Bachelor's degree and six years' related experience required.
-Master's Degree in higher education is preferred.
-Ability to navigate a complex political landscape and work well with diverse internal and external constituents of various organizational levels.
-Strong work ethic and character with a high degree of personal integrity to work with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
-Solid oral and written communication skills
-Ability to use sound judgment to draw conclusions, make recommendations, and resolve problems with diplomacy.
-Strong follow-through skills and ability to prioritize work, set and execute plans, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines. Must be able to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
-Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
-Familiarity with CUNYfirst or Oracle/People Soft software is a plus.
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Supports a Campus or University Executive as a confidential assistant in a variety of activities and initiatives as a key team member.
Organizes and manages projects involving different areas of the Campus or University community, with responsibility for project outcomes
Represents the Executive's unit in Campus or University-wide activities, including committees, special initiatives, and implementation of new processes or technology
Independently carries out a portfolio of responsibilities under the Executive's purview, such as approvals, student interactions, and monitoring of key activities
Manages communications within and outside the unit related to areas of responsibility
May serve as Manager of a large Executive Office
Performs related duties as assigned.
This position is excluded from union representation.
