Rockwell Automation is looking for an Application DevOps Enterprise Architect. The architect plays an integral role in building a holistic view and roadmap of the company's technology strategy and processes along with building standards to the overall application development lifecycle and tools. The architect partners with business and technology groups to ensure alignment of technology solutions with the company's strategic objectives. This role will work to build application development standards for the development of hardware, software and firmware solutions for Rockwell Automation's business units and customers.
This role will look at modern secure application development technologies and how they align to the business needs and where a variance process needs to be implemented. The ability to mix stability - security - and leading edge to support an agile business unit.
For example: Must be able to understand and develop the standard use cases to support the needs of the agile business units on when to use python vs. java vs. php and how to scale these technologies and what happens when a new technology needs to be adopted and its overall impact on the organizations application development landscape.
This role will report to the Enterprise Chief Architect and partner with peer Enterprise, Solution, Domain and Technical Architects.
Provides cross-product/cross-technology expertise to capability teams, evaluates solution design, and is especially consulted during release planning (e.g., standards for database design; determination of primary keys
Maintains a holistic view of the organization's strategy, processes, information and technology assets
Partners with senior IT staff and business leaders to act as an advisor to IT strategic planning efforts
Helps business leaders clarify their objectives and expectations for technological innovation efforts
Introduces and accelerates new technologies and methodologies to support digital transformation
Brings a customer experience lens to IT strategy
Partners with business and technology subject-matter experts to elicit and translate business requirements into technological solutions
Assesses the current IT environment and develops a future state IT architecture
Support the design and modeling of tactical architectures for delivery, development, and support of projects
Support the design and management of reference architectures
Partners with other solution architects to provide scalable and adaptable architectural solutions
Develops and maintains policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure that a consistent technology framework is applied across the company
Promotes the use of a shared infrastructure and application roadmap to reduce costs and improve information flows
