The University of Pittsburgh's Division of General Internal Medicine, in the Department of Medicine, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator.
Under the general direction and supervision of Dr. Charles Jonassaint, the Clinical Research Coordinator will:
Act as the primary liaison between staff and project sponsors/Clinical Research Organizations and Institutional Review Boards
Manage clinical operations, timelines, and personnel resources
Maintain, update and ensure staff training for all standard operating procedures
Thoroughly review protocols and prepare cost analysis reports to determine financial impact on site(s)
Process all protocol-related confidential disclosure agreements, clinical trial agreements, and amendments
Develop and maintain electronic regulatory filing system(s)
Disseminate all relevant study information to staff upon study start-up; and communicate project needs, issues, and problems swiftly to investigator(s) as they arise.
This position will supervise and support junior clinical research coordinators, research associates and assistants, and some students.
Flexible hours may be necessary given the uncertainty of the timing and flow of study participants.
Experience with clinical trials strongly preferred.
Experience in University of Pittsburgh processes and system preferred. Experience preferred in various patient testing methodologies (vital signs, research questionnaires, psychometry, etc.).
Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with health care and research professionals. Interest in the design and development of digital health tools and multimedia technology helpful. Good communication and organizational skills required. Strong written communications skills required. Computer knowledge and skills required. Equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
